Enter cyber-reality and hack your way to victory!

Cyber//Core; HACK is a rules-light TTRPG for running quick one-shots or episodic cyberspace hacking missions. In this game, you will play as an elite hacker, taking on only the most difficult and dangerous missions. If it were simple, they wouldn't be hiring you. This also means that you are by no means guaranteed to succeed, and you'll need to use your resources wisely to see each mission through.

As an elite cyber hacker, you will use your custom suite of core hacking software to impose your will on the very reality of cyberspace, controlling your target's reality and finding a way through to your mission's goal. Make use of your personal mainframe's powerful computing capabilities to overclock and boost your software, or to make use of your elite specialty ability. Take care you don't get caught unless you're confident in your defense though. Once you've been detected, you may find it a quick path to Burn Out and a failed mission.

A mission can take as long as the GM and players want it to, but a recommended time frame is 30-60 minutes. Act fast, hack your way through system nodes, and get to the goal before your time runs out.

Now put on your favorite cyberpunk music, and get hacking!

One-on-One Play

Cyber//Core; HACK is designed with everything from one-on-one play all the way up to a full group in mind. If you've ever wanted to try running a solo game, this is a perfect system to do it in: give that one player your undivided attention and tell a story about a solo hacker taking on the world.

GM-Less Option

Cyber//Core; HACK can be played without a central GM if desired. In this case, each player should come up with a piece of the mission and a reason their hacker won't be part of it before getting started. Each piece can be presented in a random order to prevent anyone from knowing their segment is coming up next. While in their segment, the player who created it runs it for the other hackers, with their hacker tied up doing something else.

Testimonials

"This was a fun one-shot cyberpunk game that someone new to RPGs could enjoy and quickly get the hang of. Lots of potential for different outcomes every time you play. Don't be afraid to throw yourself headfirst into your hacking roleplay and have fun! The worst thing that can happen is being obliterated from cyberspace." -2mad_dog2 (Playtester)

"10/10, would hack again" - Arathius (Playtester)

Light and Dark

The game has been laid out with two different themes, Light Mode and Dark Mode. The difference between the two is purely aesthetic, but we all know Dark Mode is better (and has the more traditional hacker vibe).
